Alireza Mirzaian is an Iranian all-rounder who became one of the main attacking weapons for Bengaluru Bulls in Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League. Fans know him best for that campaign, in which he set the record for the most raid points by an overseas player in a single PKL season while helping the Bulls into the playoffs.
PKL career
Mirzaian has played two PKL seasons. His first came with U Mumba in Season 10, when he featured in 9 matches and scored 16 points (15 raid, 1 tackle).
His breakthrough arrived with Bengaluru Bulls in Season 12 (2025). Across 20 matches he scored 201 points, 197 of them from raids and 4 from tackles, and recorded 13 Super 10s. His raid strike rate for the season was 56% and his tackle strike rate 14%.
Over his PKL career he has played 29 matches and scored 217 points (212 raid, 5 tackle), with 13 Super 10s and no High 5s.
Season 12
Mirzaian was a steady source of points for the Season 6 champions. On October 5, 2025, at the SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai, he led the Bulls to a hard-fought 33-29 win over Tamil Thalaivas with another Super 10. Match reports described him as looking sharp in attack from the opening exchanges and as the spark in the Bulls’ attack. He added pressure by sending Nitesh Kumar to the bench and kept answering Arjun Deshwal’s raids in a tight final ten minutes, before a Super Tackle by Sanjay in the last minute sealed the result.
His record-setting night came against Dabang Delhi at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium. In a match where both sides played to the Do-Or-Die strategy, Mirzaian chipped away on the offensive end in the second half and produced a Super Raid as the Bulls pulled clear. He finished with a Super 10, and the 33-23 win confirmed the Bulls’ place in the top eight and lifted them to third on the points table.
Style of play
Although listed as an all-rounder, Mirzaian’s numbers show a player whose value lies mainly in attack, with almost all of his Season 12 points coming from raids. His run of 13 Super 10s in that season reflects how consistently the Bulls leaned on him to keep the scoreboard moving.
