Rahul Sethpal

Rahul Sethpal is an Indian kabaddi player from Haryana who plays as a right corner defender. Fans know him best as a key part of the Haryana Steelers defence. He was in the squad that won the Pro Kabaddi League title in Season 11 in 2024, and he was named vice captain of the Steelers for Season 12 in 2025.

Born on 20 September 2001, Sethpal comes from Bapoli village in Panipat district, Haryana.

PKL career

Sethpal made his Pro Kabaddi League debut in Season 8 in 2021 with U Mumba. In that first season he played 18 matches and scored 44 points, made up of 34 tackle points and 10 raid points, with 1 High 5. He stayed with U Mumba for Season 9, scoring 18 points (16 tackle, 2 raid) in 15 matches.

He then moved to the Haryana Steelers, and his tackle numbers rose sharply. In Season 10 he scored 76 points from 23 matches, 73 of them from tackles, and recorded 7 High 5s. He matched that total of 76 points in Season 11, again with 73 tackle points, across 24 matches and with 4 High 5s, as the Steelers went on to lift the trophy.

Across five PKL seasons, the official record shows 99 matches and 264 points, including 243 tackle points, 21 raid points and 15 High 5s.

Season 12

Season 12 brought added responsibility, with Sethpal serving as vice captain of the Haryana Steelers. He played 19 matches and scored 50 points, 47 of them from tackles and 3 from raids, with 2 High 5s. His tackle strike rate for the season was 48%, while his raid strike rate was 14%.

Style of play

Sethpal operates from the right corner, and his numbers show a player whose value lies almost entirely in defence. Tackle points account for the vast majority of his career tally, and his regular High 5s with the Steelers reflect how often he has delivered in the defensive line.
