Parteek Dahiya

Parteek Dahiya is an Indian raider who has played all four of his Pro Kabaddi League seasons for the Gujarat Giants. Fans know him as a busy, point-scoring raider who announced himself with 183 points in his first season and who once came off the bench to score 20 points against Dabang Delhi. Across his PKL career he has 413 points from 58 matches, including 388 raid points, 25 tackle points and 19 Super 10s.

Early life and family

Parteek was born in Sonipat district of Haryana. His father is a farmer and his mother a homemaker. Sport runs deep in the family. He took up kabaddi inspired by his maternal uncle Deepak Niwas Hooda, an international kabaddi player who has also captained the Indian team. His sister Preeti Dahiya is an international level boxer, as is his maternal aunt Sweety Boora.

Early career

Parteek was bought by Patna Pirates in the Season 8 auction but did not get a chance to play a match. In the 2022 K7 Kabaddi League he scored 250 points while leading the Deepak Niwas Hooda Foundation team. Gujarat Giants then picked him up in the Season 9 auction.

PKL career

His debut campaign in Season 9 was his best yet: 183 points in 19 matches, with 178 raid points, 5 tackle points and 11 Super 10s. That haul placed him sixth among the top raiders of the season. In Season 10 he played 20 matches and scored 141 points, 130 of them from raids, with 6 Super 10s.

Season 11 brought 74 points from 15 matches and 2 Super 10s, and it also produced one of his most memorable nights. Against Dabang Delhi in Noida on 20 November 2024, Gujarat brought him on in place of Mohit with Delhi threatening to pull away. After an All Out on his first raid, he hit back with a Super Raid in the ninth minute to dismiss Ashish Malik and Sandeep, then took out Ashish and Brijendra Chaudhary in one raid to inflict an All Out. He completed his Super 10 by catching Gaurav Chillar and Ashish together and finished with 20 points as the match ended in a 39-39 tie.

Season 12

In Season 12 (2025) he again turned out for the Gujarat Giants, scoring 15 points in 4 matches, made up of 14 raid points and 1 tackle point. His raid strike rate for the season was 39% and his tackle strike rate 25%.
